T480

I bought a new used laptop, Lenovo Thinkpad T480.
I wanted to buy a new laptop, and I had a choice to get new or used.
If I decide to buy a new one the choice is very simple - System76. I adore their laptops; they are Linux friendly, reliable, and good.
However, due to circumstances, I decided to spend less and buy a used laptop. Here I also had a choice.
Lenovo or Dell?
I already have Lenovo laptop (T420) and I used Lenovo Thinkpads at work. They are great, reliable business laptops. There are some problems with them, but overall they are great. Second choice is Dell, I tried some Dell’s before, however I had more problems with them :( So, my choice was simple - get used Lenovo Thinkpad. I selected the T480.
And I bought it.
Now I am upgrading it:
- upgrade WIFI card -> Intel AX210 (with support of WIFI 6E) - done
- upgrade NVME SSD -> Samsung 990 EVO Plus 1TB - in process
- heatsink for NVME SSD - in process
- RAM -> DDR4 Crucial 64GB* - awaiting a delivery
- 64GB of RAM seems overwhelming. And it is, however I run a lot of containers for different reasons, and for me it is quite useful to have some extra RAM ^_-
